MILES CRAWFORD

DIRECTOR. DRUMMER.

Born in Boston. Raised in New York. Lives in Los Angeles.

My father's hands carried the scent of tobacco and paint, my mother's hands smelled of lavender and soil.

My background is in the performing arts. I've worked extensively with the Off-Broadway show STOMP, performing in the New York, U.S. and international touring companies. I'm a session and touring musician, and have had the pleasure of seeing the world in this manner. My music career encompasses drumming in the studio, in music videos, and on stage with Eminem, Ringo Starr, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Art Garfunkel, Darwin Deez, Bronagh Gallagher, other international acts and Los Angeles based bands.

My travels led to directing. "DNA," plays currently on MTV UK and Australia and was nominated for a UK Music Video Award; short film, "Drum-Off," was featured at LACMA and on The Huffington Post; "I Forgot My Phone" currently has over 50 million views, and received attention from mainstream news outlets around the world.

As a Director of Photography I shot the series "2 Black Dudes," which was bought by 20th Century Fox, and "SIDETRACKED," an Official selection of the 2017 Hollywood Black Film Festival.

My work in arts education as a teacher and choreographer, has been incredibly fulfilling: in Los Angeles for CITYStage, LAUSD, and THEATRE 31, and in Salvador, Brazil with the non-profit Quabales.
